Challenge for 2012: Rebound Rumble

Rebound Rumble consists of two alliances, each made up of three teams, playing a game similar to basketball. During the autonomous period, the robots are not controlled by their human counterparts from the remote driver station, only from the Kinect motion sensor. The robots attempt to score foam basketballs into the hoops from the key. There are four hoops at each end, positioned at three different heights. The robots try to shoot basketballs into these hoops, which are then returned to the other alliance and returned to the field. In the middle of the field, a short bump spans the width of the field. Three tilting ramps bridge the bump, providing an alternative method of crossing the field. At the end of the game, the robots try to balance the ramp in the center position for points. If they balance on the middle ramp with a robot from the other alliance, both alliances earn cooperation points.
