About FIRST

What Is FIRST?

FIRST is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit public charity program. It was founded by Dean Kamen in 1989. This program was founded to spread and bring awareness of math and science to young people. It also encourages other life skills such as leadership, communication, and self-confidence.

Programs

Some Robotic programs that FIRST provides are:

• Jr.FLL: For grades K to 3 (ages 6 -9). Using LEGO bricks to build models.
• FLL: For grades 4 to 8 (ages 9 - 16). Build LEGO based robots.
• FTC: For grade 9 to 12 (ages 14 - 18). Build robots to compete, using sport models.
• FRC: For grades 9 to 12 (ages 14-18). Build robots in limited time to compete in sports like games.

We are currently participating in FRC.
