Team History

In 2006 NASA Ames Research Center partnered with the Girl Scouts of Northern California to create FIRST Team 1868, the Space Cookies. In our first year we earned the highest rookie seed award at SVR and qualified to go to the International Championships.
In 2009, the Space Cookies had their best season yet! They won the
Engineering Inspiration Award and were finalists at the Silicon Valley
Regional, quarter-finalists at the Sacramento Regional and were
quarter-finalists in their division at the Championship in Atlanta, GA.
In addition, during fall of 2009, the Space Cookies attended CAL
Games, an off-season FIRST competition. The team’s robot made it
all the way to semi-finals.
Team alumnae are currently attending many prestigious schools, including MIT, Harvey Mudd College,
Wellesley College, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, Marquette, Cal Poly, and Santa Clara University.
